Hospitality & Properties Manager (Seasonal Rotation – Izu & Hokkaido)]
Locations:
- September – December:Shimoda, Izu Peninsula
- December – March:Niseko, Hokkaido
- March Onwards:Return to Shimoda, Izu Peninsula
*Our priority is to find someone to cover Sept-Nov 30th 2025 for Shimoda

About the Role:
We are looking for an individual or couple who is/are proactive problem-solver, not afraid of physical work, from landscaping in Izu to snow clearing in Hokkaido, and who also enjoys the customer-facing aspect of managing a bar and assisting guests. An important part of the job in Shimoda is guest turnovers (3-5 a week) so attention and experience in this area is
Key Responsibilities by Location:
In Shimoda, Izu
- Property Maintenance & Cleaning:
- Performing thorough cleaning and turnover of vacation homes.
- Managing garden upkeep, including cutting down overgrown vegetation and landscaping.
- Performing interior improvement projects (e.g., painting, minor repairs, furniture assembly).
- Guest Management:
- Welcoming guests and managing check-ins/check-outs.
- Responding to guest inquiries and needs during their stay.
- Taking guests to local beauty spots and helping with logistics during their stay.
- Hospitality – Bar Management:
- Operating and managing our private beach bar in the evenings (5:00 PM – 8:00 PM).
- Preparing and serving drinks, maintaining inventory, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
In Niseko, Hokkaido (Ski Season):
- Property Maintenance & Cleaning:
- Daily snow clearing from pathways, driveways, and property entrances.
- Preparing/checking vacation properties for guest arrivals.
- Guest Services:
- Welcoming guests and providing local information.
- Providing guest transport services using the company vehicle (e.g., shuttle to/from ski slopes, local areas).
Who We Are Looking For (The Ideal Candidate):
- Is physically fit and not afraid of hard, manual labour in all weather conditions.
- Flexible and enjoys a varied workday with no two days being the same.
- Possesses a valid international driver’s license or Japanese driver’s license.
- Has a friendly, professional demeanour for interacting with guests.
- Is a self-starter who can work independently and manage their own time effectively.
- Previous experience in one or more of the following is a strong advantage: snow season work; professional cleaning, landscaping/labouring, bartending, hospitality/property maintenance experience.
- We are also interested to speak to candidates with additional experience that could provide in house catering.
- For couples, a combined skill set that covers all areas is ideal.
